LearnAbout Reading LearnAbout Media's Mary Leahy has teamed with reading researchers and educators to create videos for the successful Texas Teacher Reading Academies. Featuring real students and teachers in Kindergarten through Third Grade, the videos provide a lively and informative look at science-based reading research. National versions of these videos have been distributed across the country in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Education Reading First program. In 2007-2008, LearnAbout Media created videos to support the Texas Adolescent Literacy Academies. This statewide initiative, authorized by the Texas State Legislature, addresses the needs of struggling middle school students by providing professional development in literacy instruction for middle school teachers. LearnAbout Media specializes in video production that supports the goals of Reading First and Early Reading First.
